Captain Terms and Conditions
Last updated: October 20, 2026
Introduction and Acceptance
Scope of Terms and Acceptance
These Terms govern the relationship between Wasel and the Captain registered on the Platform. The Captain’s registration, acceptance of these Terms, and use of the Platform constitute the Captain’s express and binding acceptance of all policies and terms approved by Wasel.
Registration on or use of the Platform does not create any employment or employer-employee relationship between Wasel and the Captain. The Captain provides transportation services in an independent capacity, in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations.
In the event of any conflict, discrepancy, ambiguity, or difference in interpretation between the Arabic and English versions of these Terms, the Arabic version shall prevail and shall be considered the authoritative version.
Registration and Approval
For a Captain to be approved, the Captain must satisfy the registration and verification requirements specified by Wasel and provide accurate and valid information and documents.
Wasel has the right to reject, suspend, or cancel the approval of any Captain if the requirements are not met, inaccurate information is provided, required documents have expired, or there are legitimate reasons relating to the safety or reliability of the use of the Platform.
Captain Account
The account is personal and may not be transferred, shared, or made available for use by any other person, nor may any other person execute orders through it.
The Captain is responsible for all activities carried out through the account and must notify Wasel immediately if the Captain suspects that the account has been used by another person.
Submitting and Accepting Offers
The Captain is free to choose the orders on which the Captain wishes to submit an offer and to determine the value of the offer before it is accepted by the Sender.
Once the Sender accepts the offer and completes payment, the order becomes confirmed and operationally binding on the Captain, who must execute it in accordance with the agreed order details.
Order Execution
The Captain must personally execute the order with due care and comply with the pickup and delivery times and locations and the operating instructions approved by Wasel.
The Captain may not assign the execution of the order, in whole or in part, to another person without Wasel’s approval.
Custody of the Shipment
The shipment shall remain in the Captain’s custody from the time it is received and receipt is confirmed until it is delivered or returned in accordance with the approved procedure.
The Captain must safeguard the shipment and may not open, use, tamper with, leave it in an unsafe place, or otherwise dispose of or deal with it in any unauthorized manner.
Captain’s Liability for the Shipment
The Captain shall be responsible for damage resulting from the Captain’s act or omission where a causal relationship is established between such act or omission and the loss, damage, shortage, or incorrect delivery of the shipment.
Liability shall be determined based on the outcome of the case review, the available evidence and records, and the extent to which each party contributed to the occurrence of the damage.
Wasel’s Right of Recourse Against the Captain
If Wasel pays compensation or any amount to a beneficiary due to an incident proven to have resulted, wholly or partially, from an act or omission of the Captain, Wasel shall have the right to recover from the Captain the amounts borne by Wasel in proportion to the Captain’s responsibility, within the limits permitted by applicable laws and these Terms.
This includes compensation, amounts, and substantiated direct costs incurred by Wasel as a result of the violation.
Set-Off Against the Captain’s Entitlements
To the extent permitted by applicable laws, the Captain authorizes Wasel to set off amounts payable to the Captain against amounts owed by the Captain as a result of proven violations or liability.
If the Captain’s entitlements are insufficient to cover the amount due, the remaining balance shall remain payable by the Captain and may be deducted from future entitlements in accordance with applicable laws and these Terms.
Withholding Entitlements During an Investigation
Where there is a serious claim or reasonable indication that the Captain may be responsible for the loss or damage of a shipment or for a financial or operational violation, Wasel has the right to temporarily suspend payment of the portion of the Captain’s entitlements related to the claim until the case review is completed.
Such temporary withholding does not constitute a final determination of the Captain’s liability. Any amount determined not to be payable by the Captain shall be released after completion of the review.
Inability to Execute an Order
If the Captain is unable to execute a confirmed order for a reason beyond the Captain’s control, the Captain must immediately notify Wasel Support and explain the reason. The Captain may not abandon the order without notification.
Wasel shall determine the appropriate action after reviewing the case.
Failure to Fulfil a Confirmed Order
A Captain’s failure to attend or execute a confirmed order without an acceptable reason and without notifying Wasel constitutes an operational violation.
The financial penalty for such violation may start at 50% of the order value approved by the Sender, with the penalty becoming more severe in the event of repeated violations in accordance with Wasel’s approved violations and penalties schedule.
Manipulation and Fraud
The Captain is prohibited from engaging in any manipulation or fraud, creating fictitious transactions, providing inaccurate information, colluding with any user, or manipulating the order status, proof of pickup or delivery, or financial entitlements.
Where Wasel reasonably suspects a serious incident, it may suspend the account and the amounts associated with the incident pending verification. If the violation is established, Wasel may take appropriate action, including terminating the account, recovering amounts, and reporting the matter to the competent authorities where necessary.
Communication Outside the Platform
The Captain may not exploit Sender or Recipient data obtained as a result of executing an order for any other purpose, nor use such data to create independent transactions intended to bypass the Platform or its commission.
Using beneficiary data or soliciting beneficiaries outside Wasel in violation of these Terms shall constitute grounds for taking appropriate action against the account.
Financial Entitlements
The Captain’s entitlements shall be calculated based on the order value and the commission mechanism approved and disclosed on the Platform at the time the order is executed.
The Captain is not entitled to receive any additional amounts from the Sender or Recipient other than amounts approved through Wasel, and may not request direct payment from either of them outside the Platform.
Violations and Penalties
Wasel has the right to apply the appropriate penalty based on the type, severity, recurrence, and impact of the violation. Depending on the circumstances, such measures may include:
- A notice or warning.
- Deduction from entitlements.
- Temporary suspension of the account.
- Suspension of the ability to receive orders.
- Termination of the account.
- Recovery of amounts due to Wasel.
Penalties are not required to be applied progressively where the violation is serious or involves fraud, intentional misconduct, or a material breach affecting the safety of the shipment or the rights of beneficiaries.
Rating and Service Level
The Captain’s performance is subject to evaluation based on compliance with orders, quality of execution, beneficiary complaints, ratings, and substantiated violations.
Wasel has the right to restrict, suspend, or terminate the Captain’s use of the Platform where the service level repeatedly declines or where violations affect the quality or reliability of the service.
Accidents and Violations
The Captain is responsible for driving the Captain’s vehicle, complying with traffic and safety laws, and for any violations or damage arising from the Captain’s driving or use of the vehicle.
Wasel shall not be responsible for traffic violations or the Captain’s personal or operating costs merely as a result of the Captain’s use of the Platform, except to the extent otherwise required by applicable laws.
Investigation and Cooperation
The Captain must cooperate with Wasel in any investigation into a complaint, claim, or incident related to an order executed by the Captain and provide available information or evidence within a reasonable period specified by Wasel.
Appropriate action may be taken against the account in the event of unjustified refusal to cooperate or the provision of misleading information.
Suspension or Termination of the Account
Wasel has the right to suspend or terminate the Captain’s account in the event of a breach of these Terms or the approved policies, repeated violations, proven fraud or manipulation, or serious risks to beneficiaries or the Platform.
Termination of the account shall not extinguish any rights or amounts that arose before the termination date.
Amendments
Wasel has the right to update these Terms in accordance with operational requirements and the applicable laws and regulations. The Captain shall be notified of material amendments through the method approved on the Platform whenever required.
Continued use of the Platform after the amendments take effect constitutes acceptance of such amendments, subject to any mandatory legal requirements.
Acknowledgment
By accepting these Terms, the Captain acknowledges that the Captain has read, understood, and agreed to the Captain Terms and Conditions and all policies and terms related to the use of the Wasel Platform, and agrees to comply with the rights and obligations arising therefrom.
